We’re excited to share that our journey with the Re-Connect project has officially begun and so has our new website! This platform will serve as a central hub for sharing updates, research insights, and resources about our ongoing work.
At its core, Re-Connect aims to shed new light on one of the key-questions in Quaternary science: what ecological and climatic factors shaped the fate of large mammals during the Late Pleistocene–Holocene transition?
Our work focuses on the Carpathian–Dniester region, a key-migratory corridor between Asia and Europe that still holds many untold stories and remains one of the least explored areas in Europe when it comes to Quaternary fauna and palaeoecology. By combining a wide range of analytical methods and interdisciplinary expertise, the project aims to provide an unprecedented level of information on population dynamics and the palaeoecological constraints associated with the MIS 3–1 climatic changes.
Re-Connect brings together researchers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, joining expertise across borders to fill an important gap in Europe’s palaeoecological knowledge.
This project is supported by a grant of the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, CNCS – UEFISCDI, project number PN-IV-PCB-ROMD-2024-0067.
We invite you to explore our website, follow our updates, and stay connected as the project unfolds. We look forward to sharing our discoveries along the way.
